With all the news worldwide about hoax products, it is important that we equip ourselves with knowledge to protect us from people who might just want to earn money at the expense of others. You don’t want to be spending a lot of money in a fitness center center that does not really solve your problem but instead taking all the money that you’ve got.
It’s better that you go to the experts like Tony Horton to get proper fitness advice. That goes the same with the things you buy from anywhere. Let’s take gold jewelry for example. You don’t want to discover later on that the most prized possession that you bought is actually fake! But you don’t really need to go to an expert to tell whether what you bought is pure or not. There are some ways that you can tell it yourself.
What you need to have is a magnet if the object sticks with the magnet, it is not pure gold. It may have been mixed with other metals. But don’t be confident if it doesn’t stick. You still can’t be certain so you need to do a little more testing. You then can try it with a glass. Since gold is a soft metal, it shouldn’t leave a trace on the glass where you have scraped it. But try some more test to make sure. Scrape it against a porcelain. If it leaves a gray or black mark, it is not pure gold. It should only leave nothing but a yellow mark.
But there’s still a possibility that it might just be gold plated. The next step that you can try is to file your object into a metal. If it easily files, it might be pure gold. But if you’re having a hard time filing it, it is not. Then you can try testing it in an acid solution. If the object was broken down by the acid, it can’t be a pure gold.
